Safe Handling Procedures
Always wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) when handling research peptides, including nitrile gloves, safety glasses or goggles, and a laboratory coat.
Work in a properly ventilated laboratory environment. For powdered peptides, use a fume hood or biosafety cabinet to avoid inhalation of fine particles.
Avoid skin contact and inhalation. In case of skin contact, wash thoroughly with soap and water. In case of eye contact, flush with water for at least 15 minutes and seek medical attention.
Do not eat, drink, or smoke in areas where research peptides are being handled.
Wash hands thoroughly after handling any research compounds.
Storage Requirements
Lyophilized (freeze-dried) peptides should be stored at -20°C or below in a frost-free freezer. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
Protect all peptides from light, moisture, and heat. Store in a dark, dry environment.
Once reconstituted, peptide solutions should be aliquoted into single-use volumes and stored at -80°C for long-term stability, or at -20°C for short-term use.
Use sterile, pyrogen-free water or appropriate buffer for reconstitution. Avoid acidic or basic solutions unless specified for the particular peptide.
Always check the Certificate of Analysis (COA) for specific storage recommendations for each compound.
Waste Disposal
Dispose of all research peptides and related materials in accordance with your institution's chemical waste disposal policies and all applicable local, state, and federal regulations.
Do not pour peptide solutions down the drain unless specifically approved by your institution's environmental health and safety department.
Contaminated materials (gloves, vials, syringes) should be disposed of as chemical waste.
Contact your institution's environmental health and safety office for guidance on proper disposal procedures.
Emergency Procedures
In case of accidental ingestion, do not induce vomiting. Contact Poison Control immediately (US: 1-800-222-1222) and seek emergency medical attention.
In case of skin or eye exposure, flush the affected area with large amounts of water for at least 15–20 minutes and seek medical attention.
In case of inhalation, move to fresh air immediately. If breathing is difficult, seek emergency medical attention.
Keep a Safety Data Sheet (SDS) accessible in your laboratory for all research compounds.
Regulatory Compliance
Researchers are solely responsible for ensuring their use of research peptides complies with all applicable laws and regulations in their jurisdiction.
Some peptides may be subject to import/export restrictions in certain countries. It is the buyer's responsibility to verify compliance with all applicable import and export regulations.
Research peptides are not for resale. They are intended for use only by the purchasing institution or researcher.
Pep Solutions reserves the right to refuse sale to any individual or entity that cannot demonstrate legitimate research use.
